Old Jazz Band @ The Jazz Bar @ The Peace Hotel, Shanghai, China (Wed 17 Nov 2010)

So when I told my Dad we were going to China, he told me to check out the jazz band that plays at The Peace Hotel. He’d seen them there some years before. Of course my response was- “I’m sure it’s not the same band.” Turns out that my dad’s dad (yes, my grandfather) had seen this jazz band play decades ago at The Peace Hotel in Shanghai, and then told my dad to go see them when he was there (any son I may have had better go to Shanghai).

Yes folks- same band.

The Peace Hotel itself is incredible to look at- a wonderous place with some fabulous history (again, google that stuff). The architecture is amazing and it’s huge. Even the toilets were art!
